Kyrylo's name day is celebrated on 14 February under the Revised Julian calendar (27 February before 2023), the feast of Saint Cyril, Equal-to-the-Apostles and enlightener of the Slavs. Together with his brother Methodius he created the first Slavic alphabet, and he died in Rome on 14 February 869. The name comes from the Greek "kyrios", meaning "lord, master". Interestingly, the saint's secular name was Constantine, and the name day now coincides with Valentine's Day. Below are name day wishes for Kyrylo, plus poems and gift ideas.

Kyrylo means “lord”: wishes for a leader
Kyrylo (Cyril) comes from the Greek “kyrios”, meaning “lord” or “master”. It was borne by the enlightener Cyril, credited with creating Slavic writing, and by Kyrylo Rozumovsky, the last Hetman of Ukraine. Wishes for Kyrylo can celebrate leadership and learning:
“Kyrylo, may every task you take on yield to you easily.”
“Wishing you wise command of your own life and a lasting thirst for knowledge.”
“May your words inspire and your example lead.”
What to give Kyrylo for his name day
Since Kyrylo's patron created an alphabet, a book, a fountain pen or a stylish notebook makes a great gift. A personal icon of Saint Cyril is a traditional choice. And if Kyrylo celebrates with his sweetheart, a bouquet of red roses for her will make the double holiday unforgettable.
