Social Sector Workers Day in Ukraine is marked on the first Sunday of November — in 2026 it is 1 November. The holiday was established by a presidential decree in 1999. It honours social workers who care for lonely elderly people, work in children's centres and support people with disabilities, displaced families and veterans. Here are sincere wishes, poems and flower ideas to say thank you for this quiet but vital work. Other professional dates for the year are in our calendar of professional holidays in Ukraine.
Happy Social Sector Workers Day! Thank you for the kindness you bring to people every day.
May your care come back to you a hundredfold. Happy holiday!
I wish you strength, patience and warmth — as much as you give to others.
Thank you for standing by those who struggle most. Happiness and peace to you!
From the people they care for
Thank you for coming not only with help but with a kind word. You have become family to me.
Your visits are the brightest days of my week. I wish you good health and the same care in return.
May your own family have as much warmth as you have given us.
Wishes for colleagues
Colleagues, your work is not always visible, but it holds the community together. Less paperwork and more grateful smiles to you.
May your workload be manageable, your managers attentive and your holidays long and calm.
Thank you for the teamwork in hard times. Together we truly change people's lives.
Formal wishes
Dear social sector workers! We sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday. Your responsibility and humanity help thousands of families through the hardest times.
We wish you good health, professional growth, fair recognition of your work and peace in every home.
Wishes in your own words
You listen when others hurry and stay when others leave. May life answer you with the same kindness.
Your profession is a daily choice to be humane. May that choice always bring you joy rather than fatigue.
How to celebrate with the team
Thanks and certificates — recognise everyone's contribution, even with a few words at a team meeting.
Morning flowers for the office — a bouquet for the team or small arrangements on each desk set a festive mood.
A team photo — take a group picture to hang in the office or post on the website.
A wishes board — everyone leaves a few kind words for colleagues on sticky notes.
An informal get-together — lunch, a picnic or a board-game evening after work.
Toasts for the team celebration
Colleagues, here's to our profession! May our work bring not only a salary but also pride in what we do.
A toast to a team that isn't afraid of deadlines, inspections or Mondays. Cheers!
To the experience of those who've been here for years and the energy of those who've just joined. Together we're strong!
Here's to celebrating next year's professional holiday with new achievements and the same wonderful team!
What to write on a card with flowers
Happy birthday! May this bouquet remind you how many people love you.
For the best moments of the year — flowers, sincere words and hugs.
May every day be as bright as this bouquet.
Happy birthday! Wishing you health, peace and joy in the little things.
Sign the card by hand: even two lines in your handwriting mean more than a long printed message.
Poems for Social Workers Day
You come in quietly, right on time, To homes where life is hard and grey, And with a kind and gentle line You light up someone's day.
May all the good you give away Come back to you as warmth and cheer, May strength and health be yours each day And joy be near you all the year.
Which flowers to give a social worker
Bouquets that say "thank you" fit best: cream, peach or coral roses without excess. A small bouquet is easy to carry home after a shift, and soft shades express gratitude rather than formality. A team can choose an arrangement in a box.
