Flower Delivery in Horodyshche by UFL

Flowers in Horodyshche delivered to a home or office: roses, hydrangeas, flower boxes and bouquets for any occasion. The greeting card is free.

Horodyshche: a short history

Horodyshche grew on the site of an ancient hillfort and is first recorded in 1494, when it was granted to the Cherkasy governor Klym Oleksandrovych. From 1649 it was a company town of the Cherkasy Regiment, and in 1768 its residents joined the Koliivshchyna uprising. In 1848 the Yakhnenko brothers and Fedir Symyrenko founded one of the first and largest sugar refineries in the Russian Empire here, and in 1923 the first monument to Taras Shevchenko, installed on Chernecha Hill near Kaniv, was cast at the local sugar plant. Horodyshche became a town in 1956.

Notable people of Horodyshche

Horodyshche is the birthplace of the Hulak-Artemovskyi brothers: fabulist poet Petro (1790–1865) and composer and singer Semen (1813–1873), as well as actor and playwright Ivan Tohobochnyi (1862–1933) and painter Serhii Lysenko (1921–1982). Ethnographer Pavlo Chubynskyi lived here in 1870–1873, and Taras Shevchenko visited in 1843 and 1859.

Horodyshche today

The town stands on the high banks of the Vilshanka River. Sights include St Michael's Church (1844), the 1876 sugar plant buildings, the local history museum, the Ivan Le and Semen Hulak-Artemovskyi memorial museums, and the Tsarevi Yary, Khvylynka and Monastyrok nature reserves. We deliver bouquets to any address in Horodyshche.

Where Else We Deliver

Horodyshche is a town on the Vilshanka where the first Shevchenko monument for Chernecha Hill was cast in 1923. You can also order flowers to the regional centre, Cherkasy.
