How to Send Flowers to Budapest
UFL makes it easy to send flowers to Budapest from Ukraine or anywhere else. Browse the catalog, pay by card online, and delivery in Budapest costs UAH 391.
Budapest: from Aquincum to today
The first settlement here was Celtic; in 106 AD the Roman town of Aquincum became the main city of Pannonia Inferior. Hungarian tribes reached the Danube around 895, King Béla IV built a fortified castle on Castle Hill in 1247, and Buda became the royal capital in 1361. The first Hungarian book was printed here in 1473, and under Matthias Corvinus Buda was a centre of Renaissance culture. Buda, Óbuda and Pest merged into Budapest on 17 November 1873, and in 1896 the city opened continental Europe's first underground line. Budapest has been a sister city of Kyiv since 19 October 1993.
Notable people of Budapest
Escape artist Harry Houdini (1874–1926) and physicist Leo Szilard (1898–1964), who conceived the nuclear chain reaction in 1933, were both born in Budapest.
Budapest today
The Danube separates hilly Buda from flat Pest; the Széchenyi Chain Bridge of 1849 was the first permanent crossing. Buda Castle, Matthias Church and the Fisherman's Bastion (1905) face the Hungarian Parliament across the river, and Andrássy Avenue leads to Heroes' Square. With more than 100 geothermal springs, Budapest is known as the spa capital of Europe. You can order flowers for delivery in Budapest online from Ukraine or anywhere else.
Flower delivery across Budapest: districts and addresses
Flower delivery in Budapest covers all 23 districts (kerület): the Castle Quarter in District I, Óbuda (III), central Belváros and Lipótváros (V), Terézváros (VI), Józsefváros (VIII), Újbuda (XI) and the business District XIII, plus agglomeration towns such as Budaörs, Érd, Szentendre, Dunakeszi and Gödöllő.
Common addresses include ELTE, the Budapest University of Technology, Semmelweis University clinics in Józsefváros, offices in Districts V and XIII, and the WestEnd City Center and Arena Plaza malls. For a clinic, give the department and the recipient's phone.
Card text can be in Ukrainian, English or Hungarian; we print it as sent. Budapest is 1 hour behind Kyiv all year. Hungarians widely celebrate name days (névnap), when women are traditionally given flowers at home and at work.
When to Order Flowers in Budapest
On Valentine's Day, February 14, bouquets are as popular here as they are in Ukraine. Mother's Day in Hungary falls on the first Sunday of May, and flowers for mum are a long-standing tradition. On March 8 Hungarians celebrate Women's Day (Nőnap). For holidays we recommend ordering a few days ahead.
