The city

Practical tips
- Freshness. Order the bouquet the day before, recut the stems and keep it cool. In hot weather choose hardy flowers: chrysanthemums, alstroemerias, carnations and lisianthus.
- Colour. Match flowers to the outfit, pastel with pastel or a clear contrast, with no more than 2–3 main shades.
- Respect nature. Do not trample fields, ask permission at lavender farms and private gardens, and never pick protected plants.
- Safety. Flowering fields are full of bees, and pollen from lilies and grasses can trigger allergies and stain clothes.
- Technique. A wide aperture blurs the background and makes the flowers stand out; backlight makes petals glow.
