Veterinary Medicine Workers' Day in Ukraine is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of August. The holiday was established by a presidential decree in 2001. On this day we greet veterinarians, vet technicians, lab staff, food safety specialists and everyone who cares for animal health, from pets to farm animals. Below are short Vet Day wishes, thank-you words from pet owners, messages for colleagues, formal and funny lines, poems and gift ideas. Other professional dates for the year are in our calendar of professional holidays in Ukraine.
Happy Vet Day! Healthy patients, grateful owners and countless wagging tails.
Congratulations on your professional holiday! May your kindness come back to you a hundredfold.
Happy Veterinary Medicine Workers' Day! Patience, strength and easy cases.
Thank you for saving those who cannot ask for help. Happy holiday!
From a pet owner
Doctor, thank you for saving our pet! He is chasing his ball and waking us up every morning again. We wish you good health and joy every day.
Our cat hates visits to the clinic, but we love and appreciate you very much. Happy holiday!
For fellow vets
Colleagues, happy holiday! Modern equipment, quiet night shifts and happy endings to every surgery.
Thank you to our team for professionalism and big hearts. Together we make the world kinder to animals!
Formal wishes
Dear veterinary professionals, please accept our sincere congratulations on your professional holiday. Your work protects the health of animals and people, keeps our food safe and supports farms.
We wish you good health, professional success, gratitude for your work and peace.
Funny wishes for a vet
May your patients never bite, never scratch and always point to where it hurts!
You are the only doctor a patient can say "meow" to and still be understood. Happy Vet Day!
How to celebrate with the team
Thanks and certificates — recognise everyone's contribution, even with a few words at a team meeting.
Morning flowers for the office — a bouquet for the team or small arrangements on each desk set a festive mood.
A team photo — take a group picture to hang in the office or post on the website.
A wishes board — everyone leaves a few kind words for colleagues on sticky notes.
An informal get-together — lunch, a picnic or a board-game evening after work.
Toasts for the team celebration
Colleagues, here's to our profession! May our work bring not only a salary but also pride in what we do.
A toast to a team that isn't afraid of deadlines, inspections or Mondays. Cheers!
To the experience of those who've been here for years and the energy of those who've just joined. Together we're strong!
Here's to celebrating next year's professional holiday with new achievements and the same wonderful team!
What to write on a card with flowers
Happy birthday! May this bouquet remind you how many people love you.
For the best moments of the year — flowers, sincere words and hugs.
May every day be as bright as this bouquet.
Happy birthday! Wishing you health, peace and joy in the little things.
Sign the card by hand: even two lines in your handwriting mean more than a long printed message.
Vet Day poems
You hear the ones who cannot speak, You calm their fear and ease their pain; May joy be yours from week to week And every kindness come again!
To cats and dogs and cows and more You bring back health with gentle hands; May luck come knocking at your door And life go just the way you planned!
Gift ideas for a vet
The best gift for a vet is a photo of the pet they treated with a thank-you note. Add a flower basket for the clinic, good coffee for night shifts or a quality thermos. Field daisies or chrysanthemums make the consulting room cosy.
Veterinarians, vet technicians, lab staff, food safety specialists and veterinary students.
And 4 October is a holiday for all furry patients: World Animal Day.
