World Kindness Day is celebrated every year on 13 November. The day comes from the World Kindness Movement, an international initiative that has marked it since 1998. The aim is simple: to remind us that even a small act of kindness can change someone's day. Below are short Kindness Day messages, wishes for family, friends and colleagues, ideas for good deeds, poems and gifts that bring joy. Wishes for other holidays of the year are in our holiday wishes calendar.
Happy Kindness Day! May the kindness you give always come back to you.
Thank you for your kindness; it makes the world a better place. Happy holiday!
Happy 13 November! Warm people around you and plenty of chances to do good.
May you meet many kind people and pleasant surprises today.
For family and friends
Mum, you taught me to be kind. Thank you for this most precious skill.
My friend, your kindness has saved me more than once. Happy Kindness Day, and thank you for being you!
For colleagues
Colleagues, thank you for your support, patience and willingness to help. Working with you is a real pleasure.
I wish our team constant goodwill and every day beginning with kind words.
Ideas for kind acts
Pay a compliment, call your grandmother, treat a colleague to coffee, donate to a fundraiser, feed a stray cat or give flowers for no reason.
A kind act does not have to be big; it just has to be sincere.
Heartfelt words
Kindness is a strength that needs no proof. It lives in those who hold the door, listen to the end and offer a shoulder.
May your life be full of people who make you want to be better.
Kindness Day poems
Kindness is like the winter sun, It warms us gently, quietly; May it reach each and every one And bring us all together, free.
Do good, and it will come back too, Like echoes ringing through the air; May every heart be warm and true And kindness blossom everywhere!
Gifts that bring joy
On Kindness Day the best gift is an unexpected one. Flowers for Mum for no reason, a bouquet for a colleague who helped with a project or a small arrangement for an elderly neighbour: gestures like these are remembered for a long time. Soft pink roses and fluffy hydrangeas capture the mood perfectly.
