World Post Day is celebrated every year on 9 October. On this day in 1874 the Universal Postal Union was founded in Bern, and in 1969 its congress in Tokyo declared the date a holiday. Ukraine has been a member of the union since 1947. Today the post means not only letters but millions of parcels, courier deliveries and online orders. Below are short Post Day wishes, messages for postal workers and couriers, words from customers, funny lines, poems and gift ideas.

Post Day poems

Letters, parcels, cards and stamps,
You bring good news to every door;
May all your routes have gentle ramps
And joy be yours forevermore!

May every parcel reach its place
And every letter carry cheer;
May life be kind and full of grace
And happy news arrive all year!

And on this day you can revive an old tradition by sending someone a paper letter or card, or ordering flowers in a "flower envelope".
