Birthday
HydrangeasUkrainian Air Force Day is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of August. The holiday was established by a presidential decree in 2007, while the Air Force in its current form appeared in 2004, when the air force and air defence troops were merged. Today it means pilots, anti-aircraft gunners, radar troops and engineers who shoot down missiles and drones night after night. Below are short and formal Air Force Day wishes, words for family and comrades, thanks to the sky defenders, poems and ways to support them.
More for defenders: National Guard Day wishes, Armed Forces Day wishes, Defenders Day wishes.
Short Air Force Day wishes
- Happy Air Force Day! Thank you for every target shot down and every quiet night.
- Happy holiday, sky defenders! May your wings be strong and your return a happy one.
- Happy Air Force Day! Clear skies, accurate launches and peace over Ukraine.
- Thank you for guarding the sky while we sleep. Happy holiday!
From family: to a pilot or air defender
- Son, you always dreamed of the sky, and now you defend it. We are proud of you and waiting for you at home. Take care!
- My love, every quiet night is thanks to you. May your guardian angel fly beside you. I love you and I am waiting!
For comrades
- Comrades, happy holiday! May the equipment never fail, comms never drop and every shift end without losses.
- Strength, precision and luck to every crew. We are one sky team!
Formal wishes

- We wish you good health, strength of spirit, successful missions and peaceful skies over Ukraine.
Thanks to the sky defenders
- Thank you for every "all clear" message. Behind it lies your sleepless work, precision and courage.
- Eternal memory to the pilots and air defenders who gave their lives protecting our sky.
Air Force Day poems
May skies be clear and calm and bright,
May wings be strong on every flight,
May every mission end in success
And bring you home in happiness!
You guard our skies by night and day
While all the country sleeps in peace;
May luck and courage light your way
Until the war and sorrow cease.
How to support the sky defenders
The best support is a donation to air defence units and mobile fire teams, a warm message to family or comrades and respect for air-raid alerts. Flowers suit veterans, those on leave and defenders' families: light roses and sky-blue shades are a reminder of peaceful skies.
