Apple Savior Day (Yablunchnyi Spas) is the folk name for the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church celebrate it on August 6. On this day, apples, pears, grapes and other fruits of the new harvest are blessed in church. Here you will find Apple Savior and Transfiguration wishes: short, religious, folk, for family and friends, plus poems. Wishes for other holidays of the year are in our holiday wishes calendar.
Read about the date, traditions and what is blessed in Apple Savior Day in Ukraine, and for other summer holidays, see Trinity and Pentecost wishes.
By folk tradition, people did not eat apples of the new harvest until Apple Savior Day and shared the first blessed fruit with family and neighbors. So it is customary to wish generosity and prosperity on this day.

And every day be filled with light.
