Ukraine celebrates Europe Day on 9 May, as set by a presidential decree in 2023. The date marks the Schuman Declaration: on 9 May 1950 French foreign minister Robert Schuman proposed a plan for uniting Europe that grew into the European Union. In 1985 European leaders adopted 9 May as Europe Day, and since 2022 Ukraine has been an EU candidate country. Below you will find short Europe Day wishes, messages for friends, colleagues and partners, poems and ideas for blue and yellow flowers.

Europe Day poems

A sky of blue, a field of gold,
A ring of stars that shine as one.
May Europe and Ukraine hold
Together till the peace is won!

Happy Europe Day! May freedom
Live in every heart we know,
May our home stand strong in peace
In Europe's family as we grow.

Which flowers to give on Europe Day

Blue and yellow flowers suit 9 May best, as they recall both the EU flag and the flag of Ukraine. Blue hydrangea with yellow roses is a perfect pairing. Such a bouquet is a fitting gift for European partners, colleagues at an international company or friends who support Ukraine.
