Metallurgists Day is the professional holiday of metallurgy and mining workers, celebrated in Ukraine on the third Sunday of July (19 July in 2026). It honours steelmakers, blast-furnace operators, rolling-mill workers, engineers and everyone at the plants of Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Kamianske and Dnipro. The industry that has long supported the national economy now works under shelling and helps the front. Below are Metallurgists Day wishes for colleagues, a dad or a husband, plus poems and gift ideas. Other professional dates for the year are in our calendar of professional holidays in Ukraine.
From ore to steel: who we greet on Metallurgists Day
Short Metallurgists Day wishes
Happy Metallurgists Day! Health as strong as steel and victories as hot as molten metal.
May your work be safe and its results of the highest grade. Happy holiday!
Happy professional holiday! Strength, endurance and fair recognition of your hard work.
May the fire in the furnaces burn steadily and in your hearts even brighter.
Wishes for colleagues
Colleagues, thank you for your reliable shoulder by the furnace and in the shop. May every shift be accident-free and the crew close-knit.
May the equipment run without breakdowns, targets be met with ease and bonuses be generous.
May your steel temper not only metal but character — to the joy of your family and country.
For a dad, husband or son
Dad, you are our iron hero. Thank you for every hard shift you worked for the family. Happy holiday!
My love, I am proud of your profession and wait for you at home after every shift. Take care!
Son, you are carrying on the family tradition of metallurgists. May your work bring you pride and prosperity.
Formal wishes
Dear metallurgy and mining workers! We sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday. Your work is the foundation of the country's industry, and your resilience in wartime deserves the highest respect.
We wish you accident-free work, good health, stability for your enterprises and peace for every family.
Metallurgists at the front
You traded the steelmaker's helmet for a combat one but stayed just as tempered. Come home alive and victorious!
Thank you to the metallurgists forging our victory — in the shops and on the front line.
How to celebrate with the team
Thanks and certificates — recognise everyone's contribution, even with a few words at a team meeting.
Morning flowers for the office — a bouquet for the team or small arrangements on each desk set a festive mood.
A team photo — take a group picture to hang in the office or post on the website.
A wishes board — everyone leaves a few kind words for colleagues on sticky notes.
An informal get-together — lunch, a picnic or a board-game evening after work.
Toasts for the team celebration
Colleagues, here's to our profession! May our work bring not only a salary but also pride in what we do.
A toast to a team that isn't afraid of deadlines, inspections or Mondays. Cheers!
To the experience of those who've been here for years and the energy of those who've just joined. Together we're strong!
Here's to celebrating next year's professional holiday with new achievements and the same wonderful team!
What to write on a card with flowers
Happy birthday! May this bouquet remind you how many people love you.
For the best moments of the year — flowers, sincere words and hugs.
May every day be as bright as this bouquet.
Happy birthday! Wishing you health, peace and joy in the little things.
Sign the card by hand: even two lines in your handwriting mean more than a long printed message.
Poems for Metallurgists Day
The furnace roars, the metal flows, And steel is born in fire and heat, May every day your courage grows And every shift be safe and sweet.
You temper steel and temper will, Through heat and frost you stand your ground, May joy and luck be with you still And peace and family all around.
What to give a metallurgist
Practical gifts suit metallurgists: a good thermos, a gift basket with delicacies or a quality watch. At ceremonies and award presentations, restrained bouquets of tall red roses are given — they symbolise the strength and heat of the profession. A metallurgist's wife deserves flowers too, for her patience and support.
