Physical Culture and Sports Day in Ukraine is celebrated on the second Saturday of September — 12 September in 2026. It honours athletes, coaches, PE teachers, fitness instructors and everyone who chooses an active lifestyle. Ukrainian athletes compete internationally to remind the world about their country, and many sportspeople defend it at the front. Below are wishes for a coach, athletes, colleagues and children, plus poems and gift ideas. Other professional dates for the year are in our calendar of professional holidays in Ukraine.
Happy Physical Culture and Sports Day! Strength, endurance and new personal bests.
May every training session bring you closer to your goal and every start bring joy. Happy holiday!
I wish you health, energy and victories — on the field and in life!
Movement is life. May your life be full of movement and even more happiness!
For a coach from students and parents
Dear coach, thank you for your patience, your faith in us and every piece of advice. Your victories are in our medals!
You taught our children never to give up and to believe in themselves. Deep gratitude from the parents!
We wish you talented pupils, new champions and well-deserved recognition.
For athletes and friends
My friend, may your muscles be strong and injuries pass you by. Waiting for new medals!
May your training bring satisfaction and competitions bring victories and new friends.
May you always find the motivation to get up for a morning run!
For a PE teacher
Dear PE teacher, thank you for instilling a love of movement and a healthy lifestyle in children. May your lessons be fun and your students sporty.
We wish you energy, new sports equipment and students who never look for a doctor's note to skip class.
Athletes at the front
Thank you to the athletes defending Ukraine today. Your strength and endurance now serve victory. Come home alive!
May you return to the stadiums after victory and win new medals for a free country.
How to celebrate with the team
Thanks and certificates — recognise everyone's contribution, even with a few words at a team meeting.
Morning flowers for the office — a bouquet for the team or small arrangements on each desk set a festive mood.
A team photo — take a group picture to hang in the office or post on the website.
A wishes board — everyone leaves a few kind words for colleagues on sticky notes.
An informal get-together — lunch, a picnic or a board-game evening after work.
Toasts for the team celebration
Colleagues, here's to our profession! May our work bring not only a salary but also pride in what we do.
A toast to a team that isn't afraid of deadlines, inspections or Mondays. Cheers!
To the experience of those who've been here for years and the energy of those who've just joined. Together we're strong!
Here's to celebrating next year's professional holiday with new achievements and the same wonderful team!
What to write on a card with flowers
Happy birthday! May this bouquet remind you how many people love you.
For the best moments of the year — flowers, sincere words and hugs.
May every day be as bright as this bouquet.
Happy birthday! Wishing you health, peace and joy in the little things.
Sign the card by hand: even two lines in your handwriting mean more than a long printed message.
Sports Day poems
Start, a sprint — the finish line, Behind you sweat and strain, May all your victories shine Again and yet again.
May training make you strong and bright, May sport bring health and cheer, May every goal come into sight And joy be always near.
What to give a coach or athlete
Practical gifts suit athletes best: a fruit basket, a sports bottle, a towel or a sports-shop voucher. A female coach or PE teacher will appreciate a bright bouquet from the class, while a male coach will value a restrained bouquet with a useful gift.
