"How much should I spend on a decent bouquet?" is one of the most common questions before ordering. The honest answer: as much as you are comfortable with. There are beautiful bouquets in every price range; different budgets simply buy a different scale, composition and presentation. Using examples from our catalogue, here is what you can actually get for 1000, 2000, 3000 hryvnias and more. All our advice for men is in one place — a man’s guide to choosing and giving flowers. Delivery terms and timing are explained in how much flower delivery in Kyiv costs. What to ask in the shop to stay on budget: 7 questions to ask a florist.

The prices below are approximate at the time of publication: they change with the season and with wholesale flower prices. What exactly drives the cost is explained in what drives a bouquet's price.

Up to 1000 UAH: compact but stylish

This range covers classic bouquets of 7 roses: red, white, pink, coral or mixed colours. Another good-value option is 15 Kenya roses: the stems are shorter, about 40 cm, but you get twice as many flowers. Such a bouquet suits a date, a small gesture for a colleague or a "just because" surprise.

One important detail: the minimum order for delivery in Kyiv is 1000 UAH, and delivery is free from the same amount. So a 900 UAH bouquet pairs well with a box of chocolates or a helium balloon: the gift feels fuller and delivery costs nothing. See all options in bouquets under 1000 UAH.

1000–2000 UAH: the most popular choice

Here you have room to choose: 9–15 roses with 50–60 cm stems, 11 white or red roses, soft mixes with lisianthus, a heart of 15 roses in a box or daisy chrysanthemums in a box. This budget is enough for a birthday, an anniversary or an apology: the bouquet looks like a proper gift rather than a token.

2000–3000 UAH: striking with no compromises

For this money you can choose 25 roses in red, white, cream or two colours, 21 Jumilia roses, 51 roses on special offer or mixes with hydrangea and spray roses. Most boxes with 19–23 roses also fall into this range. It is a budget for a milestone birthday, a declaration of love or a gift meant to be remembered.

From 3000 UAH: scale and wow effect

This is where full-length 51-rose bouquets begin, along with peony-shaped roses, lisianthus or hydrangea bouquets, florist's choice arrangements and large boxes. From 5000 UAH and up comes 101 roses, still the most recognisable "grand gesture".

How to make a bouquet look pricier without overpaying

• A mono bouquet instead of a mix. One flower in one colour looks cohesive even in a compact size.
• Seasonal flowers. Tulips in spring, chrysanthemums in autumn: what is in season is usually better value.
• Shorter stems, more flowers. 40 cm Kenya roses make a lush bouquet for the price of fewer long roses.
• A box instead of a big bouquet. Flowers in a box look generous even with fewer blooms, and they need no vase. Formats are compared in bouquet, box or basket.
• A card with a personal message. It costs nothing, yet it is the part people reread most.

Making a modest bouquet look bigger

• Seasonal flowers: tulips in spring, peonies in summer or chrysanthemums in autumn give more volume for the same money.
• More greenery: eucalyptus, pistacia or ruscus add size and freshness.
• Spray roses instead of single-headed ones: several buds on each stem.
• A single-variety bouquet: one type and colour looks stylish even in small numbers.
• Neat wrapping and a card make the gift complete.

How much to spend on different occasions

• A small gesture, "just because", a colleague: 900–1500 UAH.
• A loved one's birthday, a date: 1500–2500 UAH.
• A milestone birthday, an anniversary, a declaration of love: from 2500 UAH.
• A special gesture: 51 or 101 roses, from 3000–5000 UAH.

This is a guideline, not a rule. A fresh 1000 UAH bouquet delivered on time with a warm card works better than an expensive one that arrives late. And to get the number of stems right, check how many flowers to give.
