At the end of the year, companies thank partners, clients and their own teams, and flowers are one of the simplest ways to say "thank you for the year". Simple, that is, if it is planned. Otherwise, on 22 December the office manager is calling florists who have no free slots left, and half the partners receive their greetings after they have gone on holiday.

Here is how to organise corporate New Year flowers: what to give different groups of recipients, how to respect business etiquette and when to order. For a broader look at gifts for employees and partners, see corporate gifts.

When to order: the countdown

In Ukraine, Christmas is celebrated on 25 December, so many companies send a single "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" greeting. That means deliveries should be completed by 23–24 December, while partners are still in their offices. Count back from that date.

Who gets what

Colleagues and your team

Small identical arrangements for everyone are the fairest format: nobody compares who got more. Flowers in a box, mini bouquets in corporate colours or potted plants that stay on the desk all work well. See ideas in flowers for colleagues.

Partners

Neutral but noticeable gifts are appropriate here: a stylish bouquet in a calm palette or a basket combining flowers and treats that can be shared with the partner's whole team. Browse our gift baskets.

Key clients and executives

For the most important contacts, choose large arrangements with hydrangeas, roses or orchids. Quality and presentation matter more than the number of stems. See ready options among our VIP bouquets.

Business etiquette: 6 rules

  • A neutral palette. White, cream, greenery, deep burgundy or your brand colours. Keep heart-shaped red roses for personal greetings.
  • Equal gifts for equal rank. Recipients of the same level get the same gifts: in business they get compared more often than you think.
  • No strong scents. Heavily scented lilies or hyacinths can be a nuisance in an open-plan office.
  • Practicality. An arrangement in a box or basket means nobody has to hunt for a vase in the office.
  • Sign as the company and a person. "The [company] team, [name, position]" tells the recipient whom to thank.
  • No advertising. A logo on the ribbon or card is fine, a promotional flyer with a price list is not.

Texts for corporate cards

  • Thank you for your trust and our work together this year. Happy holidays, and here is to new projects!
  • May the new year be as reliable as our partnership. Happy holidays!
  • The [company] team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for being with us.
  • Thank you, every one of you, for this year. We are proud of our team!
  • Peace, light and strength in the new year. Kind regards, [name] and the [company] team.

More options for different occasions are in what to write on a flower card.

How to organise bulk delivery

  • One spreadsheet. Company, recipient's name, address with floor and office, phone, preferred day, card text.
  • A contact for security. For business centres, give the recipient's full name and, if possible, reception, so the bouquet does not get lost at the entrance.
  • A schedule, not a single day. Spread deliveries over several days to reduce the risk of delays on peak dates.
  • Winter details. Make sure the office is open on the delivery day and that the bouquet will not be left by the door. On protecting flowers from frost, see winter flower delivery.

For regular orders, a corporate account is more convenient: a personal manager, bank transfer payment and closing documents. The terms are on the corporate clients page.

Flowers for your own office

A festive atmosphere in the office is part of the corporate celebration too. Fresh arrangements at reception, conifer branches with berries or potted plants set the mood without plastic decorations. Winter decor ideas are in New Year flower arrangements, and more gift ideas are in New Year gift ideas.

Plan everything by mid-December, and the last working week will be spent not on calling florists but on the celebration itself.

Ready-made card messages are in Happy New Year wishes.
