The tradition of the "language of flowers" flourished especially in 19th-century Europe, when whole dictionaries assigned a meaning to each flower. How to choose a bouquet for a declaration
- Consider her taste. A person's favourite flowers say more than the most "correct" symbol.
- Red roses are the clearest language of love if you want your intentions to be unmistakable.
- Soft shades — pink, peach, white — suit a relationship that is just beginning.
- Size is not the point: a neat bouquet of 7–15 stems looks sincere and does not overwhelm.
How to give the flowers
- In person — the most sincere option. Choose a quiet place where nobody will interrupt.
- With a card — a few handwritten words help if nerves get in the way.
