Happy 12th Birthday Wishes

Twelve is the last year of childhood before the teens. The child already has hobbies, friends and opinions but still loves surprises and birthday cake. A 12th birthday wish should be warm, fun and a little “grown-up”. This collection includes short wishes, messages for a girl and a boy, from parents, grandparents and friends, funny lines, verses and gift ideas. For other ages, see our birthday wishes by age.

You’re twelve today — hooray for you!

Twelve little candles burning bright,
Your friends and family cheer tonight;
May dreams come true like fairy tales
And joy fill all your days and trails!

What to give for a 12th birthday

At 12, children love hobby gifts: building sets, craft kits, books, sports gear and board games. For a girl, a small bouquet or an orchid makes a nice first “grown-up” flower gift. For a boy, balloons or a sweet set work well.
