About the feast

Mary Magdalene was one of the myrrh-bearing women who followed Christ. On the morning after the Resurrection she came to the tomb, was the first to see the risen Saviour and told the apostles. That is why the Church calls her Equal-to-the-Apostles. Besides 22 July, women named Mariia may also celebrate on other feast days of saints with this name.
