Peach is a warm, soft and highly photogenic shade: gentler than orange and warmer than pink. Pantone even named Peach Fuzz its Colour of the Year 2024. Here is what peach flowers symbolise, which roses and other flowers come in peach, what to pair them with and who to give them to. More flowers with photos, names and meanings are in our guide to types of flowers. For a sunnier palette, see yellow roses.

Soft pastel bouquets are available among our garden roses and spray roses.

What peach means

In the language of flowers, peach shades stand for gratitude, sincerity, warmth and friendship. It sits between romantic pink and energetic orange, so a peach bouquet suits almost any occasion — from a colleague's birthday to a wedding.

  • Ranunculus and tulips — delicate spring options.
  • Carnations and alstroemeria — long-lasting and affordable.

Peach flowers through the seasons

You can buy a peach rose all year round, but its companions change with the season:

  • March–May — apricot tulips, ranunculus, daffodils with a pink-peach cup. Spring peach bouquets are the lightest and airiest.
  • Late May–June — coral-peach peonies (such as Coral Charm) that fade to cream as they open. The most sought-after month for a peach palette.
  • July–September — dahlias, gladioli, garden roses, lisianthus. Bouquets grow fuller and richer.
  • October–February — chrysanthemums, carnations, spray roses and dried accents such as pampas grass, bunny tails and cotton. A winter peach bouquet feels cosy and homely.

How to describe “your” peach to a florist

Everyone pictures “peach” differently, so it helps to specify the shade when ordering:

  • Apricot — warmer, closer to yellow.
  • Coral peach — brighter, with a pink-red undertone.
  • Powder peach — muted, almost beige with a pink sheen.
  • Peaches and cream — a pale centre with darker petal edges.

A reference photo is the safest option. Keep in mind that warm shades often look more saturated on a phone screen than in real life, and peach roses appear lighter in daylight than in the evening.

How to photograph a peach bouquet beautifully

Peach flowers are very photogenic, but a phone camera easily pushes them towards pink or burns them into yellow. A few tips:

  • Shoot by a window in daylight, out of direct sun: diffused light shows the true shade.
  • Turn off warm filters and avoid yellow lamps, which turn peach into orange.
  • Choose a neutral background — linen, a white wall, pale wood. Grey and beige make peach look even softer.
  • Shoot at bud level or slightly from above to show petal texture.

Such a bouquet also looks lovely next to coffee or a dessert in matching tones, which is why the peach palette is so popular for morning greetings and celebration photo shoots.

Bouquet care

Pastel petals are sensitive to sun and heat — keep the bouquet cool, change the water every other day and recut the stems. Roses and carnations last 7–10 days this way.
