World Photography Day is celebrated every year on 19 August. The date goes back to 19 August 1839, when the French government announced Louis Daguerre's daguerreotype as a "gift to the world", making photography available to everyone. On this day we greet professional photographers, photojournalists, wedding and war photographers, and everyone who loves capturing moments. Below are short Photography Day wishes, messages for colleagues, words from clients, funny lines, poems and gift ideas.
Happy Photography Day! Perfect light, sharp focus and grateful clients.
Congratulations on your professional holiday! May every shot be a masterpiece.

Gift ideas for a photographer
Photographers love practical gifts: a spare battery, a memory card, a camera strap, a gear backpack or a photo-store voucher. A lovely gesture is to print an album of the photographer's own best shots. And a bright bouquet doubles as a great photo prop and a thoughtful gift.
