Roman’s name day under the new church calendar of the OCU and UGCC is celebrated on 1 October; under the old style it is 14 October. The day honours Saint Romanos the Melodist, a Byzantine author of church hymns. 1 October is also the Feast of the Protection of the Theotokos (Pokrova) and the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, so men named Roman celebrate a double — or even triple — holiday. Below are short name day wishes for Roman, wishes in your own words, messages for a husband, dad, son, friend or colleague, and poems.
