The bouquet is chosen, the address is in, and the "card message" field is still empty. Sound familiar? The card matters more than it seems: flowers fade within a week, but the card often stays on the fridge or between the pages of a book. It is the only part of the order that speaks in your voice. All our advice for men is in one place — a man’s guide to choosing and giving flowers.
Below are 60 short messages for the six most common occasions. Each fits a standard gift card, and each is easy to make your own: add a name, a shared memory or one detail only you know.
How to write a message that fits the card
Length. Two to four lines, roughly up to 200 characters. It reads at a glance and needs no tiny handwriting.
Use their name. "Helen" sounds warmer than "dear birthday girl".
One personal detail. An inside joke, a favourite place, an old promise turns a template into your message.
Signature. Your name, "yours…" or a riddle-like hint if the surprise is anonymous.
Proofread. Read it aloud and double-check the recipient's name: cards get reread.
Want to keep it a mystery? Simply leave it unsigned: when calling the recipient, the UFL courier does not reveal the sender or what is in the bouquet, only what is needed to deliver it.

Birthday: 10 messages
Happy birthday! May this year bring kind people, bold decisions and mornings worth waking up for.
It is your day, and the flowers are just a reminder: you matter to us more than we manage to say.
May your plans come true faster than you can write them down.
Another year, another chapter. May it be the brightest one yet.
These flowers are for all the days you carried everything yourself. Today you carry nothing: just celebrate.
Peace, strength and people around you who are easy to laugh and be quiet with.
Congratulations on your milestone birthday! Thank you for the experience, generosity and warmth you have shared with us all these years.
May age be counted not in years but in happy days. Today is another one.
Happy birthday, colleague! Fewer deadlines, more vacation and no Friday evening meetings.
I cannot hug you today, so the flowers will do it for me. See you soon!
Neutral arrangements for colleagues, doctors and teachers are in the thank-you flowers collection. For business gratitude, keep the tone formal and sign with your full name or the company name.
Apology: 10 messages
I am sorry. I was wrong and I want to make it right.
Words are hard for me, so let the flowers start. Forgive me.
I am sorry I upset you. Can we talk tonight?
I made a mistake. You matter more than any argument.
Sorry I am late, both to our meeting and with these words.
It is quiet and wrong without you. Please forgive me.
I admit it: you were right. This bouquet is my white flag.
I am sorry. Give me a chance to fix everything.
We apologise for the inconvenience. We value your patience and trust.
I want to see you smile again today. Forgive me.
A bouquet does not replace a conversation, but it opens the door to one. Soft, light arrangements from our apology flowers read as a sincere "I am sorry", without the drama.
Support and get well: 10 messages
Get well soon! We miss you and are waiting for you.
May every day bring you more strength. We are with you, even from afar.
Rest and plan nothing, we have got you covered. Your team.
Sending a little spring to brighten your day. Hang in there!
You are stronger than you think. We believe in you.
These flowers are instead of a hug. Come back soon.
Thinking of you. If you need anything, just text me.
Hang in there. We are with you, today and always.
Let the flowers remind you: many bright days are ahead.
Before sending flowers to a hospital, check whether the ward accepts them: some do not. In that case, deliver the bouquet home for their return. Ready arrangements are in our get well flowers collection, and longer wishes are in get well wishes.
How to sign the card
Close people: just your name or "yours".
Colleagues and partners: first and last name, and your position if needed.
From a company: the company name and the name of a contact person.
Anonymously: a riddle-like hint, such as "From the one who remembers your favourite song".
From abroad: add your city, for example "Hugs from Warsaw, see you soon".
Card messages from a company
Thank you for your trust and productive cooperation. Kind regards, the [company] team.
Happy professional holiday! We’re glad to be your partners. [Company name].
May this year bring new joint projects and success. Best wishes, [name and title].
Thank you for choosing us. These flowers are a small token of our gratitude.
On a corporate card always include the sender’s name and company so the recipient knows right away who it’s from.
What not to write
Long poems from the internet: people recognise them from the first line.
Jokes only the two of you understand, if the bouquet goes to an office: reception may read the card.
Any mention of the price.
Anything too personal for a workplace delivery.
Health advice for someone who is ill: simple support works better.
The main rule is simple: the card should sound as if you said it out loud. If you are planning a bigger surprise, see our ideas in how to celebrate Women's Day.
