International Chefs Day is celebrated every year on 20 October. It was founded in 2004 by the World Association of Chefs' Societies (Worldchefs) on the initiative of chef Bill Gallagher. On this day we greet cooks, head chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, sous-chefs and everyone who cooks for others, in restaurants, cafés, school canteens and at home. Below are short Chefs Day wishes, messages for a head chef and colleagues, words for Mum and Grandma, funny lines, poems and gift ideas. Other professional dates for the year are in our calendar of professional holidays in Ukraine.
Happy Chefs Day! Fresh ingredients, grateful guests and inspiration at the stove.
Congratulations on your professional holiday! May every dish become a little masterpiece.
Happy 20 October! Sharp knives, steady flames and empty plates after every service.
Thank you for the flavour, warmth and care you put into every dish. Happy holiday!
For a head chef and colleagues
Chef, happy holiday! Thank you for your teaching, high standards and taste we can trust. May the kitchen run like clockwork.
Colleagues, happy Chefs Day! Smooth orders, reliable equipment and energy left for rest after the shift.
For Mum or Grandma, the best cooks
Mum, happy Chefs Day! Your borscht is the best in the world and your pies smell of childhood. Thank you for every dish made with love.
Grandma, nobody bakes like you do. Stay healthy and keep treating us to your recipes for many years!
Formal wishes
Dear kitchen professionals, please accept our sincere congratulations on International Chefs Day. Your skill and hard work bring people joy, comfort and strength in restaurants, hospitals, schools and military units.
We wish you good health, creative inspiration, grateful guests and peace.
Funny wishes for a chef
May your salary rise like yeast dough and your problems vanish like pancakes at breakfast!
May life always go by the recipe, with exactly the right amount of salt. Happy Chefs Day!
How to celebrate with the team
Thanks and certificates — recognise everyone's contribution, even with a few words at a team meeting.
Morning flowers for the office — a bouquet for the team or small arrangements on each desk set a festive mood.
A team photo — take a group picture to hang in the office or post on the website.
A wishes board — everyone leaves a few kind words for colleagues on sticky notes.
An informal get-together — lunch, a picnic or a board-game evening after work.
Toasts for the team celebration
Colleagues, here's to our profession! May our work bring not only a salary but also pride in what we do.
A toast to a team that isn't afraid of deadlines, inspections or Mondays. Cheers!
To the experience of those who've been here for years and the energy of those who've just joined. Together we're strong!
Here's to celebrating next year's professional holiday with new achievements and the same wonderful team!
What to write on a card with flowers
Happy birthday! May this bouquet remind you how many people love you.
For the best moments of the year — flowers, sincere words and hugs.
May every day be as bright as this bouquet.
Happy birthday! Wishing you health, peace and joy in the little things.
Sign the card by hand: even two lines in your handwriting mean more than a long printed message.
Chefs Day poems
You turn plain food to works of art, Your stove is like a painter's stand; May joy and flavour fill your heart And every dish come out as planned!
May nothing ever burn or stick, May guests ask for a second plate, May every service run so quick And every evening turn out great!
Gift ideas for a chef
Chefs love professional extras: a good knife, a sharpener, an apron, a spice set or a cookbook. For a kitchen celebration, a bright bouquet or a fruit basket delights the whole team. And the best gift for a home cook is a dinner made for them.
