Decorating ideas
Flowers in eggshells
Carefully cut the top off a raw egg, wash and dry the shell, pour in a little water and add a sprig of grape hyacinth, a small daffodil or a hyacinth. The shells sit neatly in egg cups, a cardboard egg tray or a basket of moss.
Hanging arrangements and branches
Branches of willow, birch or flowering trees in a tall vase can be decorated with hanging pysanky, ribbons and small eggshells filled with flowers. This Easter "tree" is a tradition that came from Germany.
An Easter wreath
The base of the wreath is made of willow, vine or moss, with quail eggs, fresh or preserved flowers and ribbons added. It is hung on the door or placed on the table around a candle.
Setting the Easter table
- Colour. A white or linen tablecloth and 1–2 pastel accents — yellow, soft green or pink.
- The centrepiece should be low so guests can see each other: flowers, moss, dyed eggs and a candle.
- Individual touches — a dyed egg with a name card or a sprig of willow on each napkin.
- Paska and the basket are the focal point of the table; spring flowers can be arranged around them.

Potted flowers

Tips
- Keep candles away from dry willow, moss and ribbons.
- Don't put daffodils straight into a vase with other flowers: their sap shortens the life of their neighbours.
- For long-lasting decor, use preserved moss and artificial eggs.
- Decorate gradually, starting on Palm (Willow) Sunday.
