How to give flowers
- Hand the bouquet over with your right hand, blooms up, with a few warm words.
- Keep decorative wrapping on; remove plain transport film or paper before presenting if the bouquet is not gift-wrapped.
- When visiting, give flowers to the hostess as soon as you arrive.
- At business events flowers suit celebrations and anniversaries; a box or basket is more practical.
- Men receive flowers too — usually a restrained single-variety bouquet in muted shades.
How many flowers

Which flowers suit whom
- Hostess — a small bouquet that fits easily in a vase, or a flower box.
- Colleague or boss — a restrained bouquet without a strong scent.
- Older people — soft, calm shades.
- Hospital visits — check the rules first: many wards do not allow fresh flowers.
How to receive flowers
- Say thank you and admire the bouquet in front of the giver.
- Put the flowers in water as soon as possible — unless it is an arrangement in foam or a box.
